The educational mission of the kindergarten and the school are similar in their principle. The development of the children should be encouraged so that the children grow up to be independent and socially competent personalities. This relates to the areas of upbringing, education and care of the child and is written down in the Child and Youth Welfare Act.
It is the task of the educators to support the children, whereby the support is always based on the age, level of development, life situation, special abilities and skills, interests and needs of the child. Ethnic origin is also taken into account. For this reason, the education in kindergarten plays a high value in intercultural education.

It should develop basic knowledge about the body and physical development should be promoted, taking into account personal strengths and weaknesses. What is the educational mandate in school?
Schools are state institutions, which is why the educational mandate of German law applies there. He calls for children and young people to be encouraged in their development and to be formed into independent and socially competent people.
The schools teach and educate the children accordingly on the basis of the Basic Law and the respective state constitution. In addition, it is anchored in the educational mandate of the school that the teachers should bring reverence for God and human dignity to the students, in order to awaken the willingness to social action in people. Respect and esteem for fellow human beings, animals and nature, as well as love for home and a positive attitude towards democracy, the Basic Law, the state constitution and freedom are also part of the educational mission.
Furthermore, the school respects the upbringing of the parents and complements them in partnership. An essential part of the educational mandate of schools in Germany is the imparting of abilities, skills, knowledge and values that meet the personal requirements of the pupils and thus promote personal development.
The children should be formed into people who take responsibility independently and make decisions that serve the common good, nature and the environment. At the same time, while teaching in a group, the students should learn to shape their own lives in such a way that they can participate in social, cultural and political events.
In addition, an educational goal is that the pupils learn in school to learn, to develop joy in learning and to perform well, to represent their own opinion, at the same time to respect the ideas and ideas of the other, to independently make decisions about life issues and the to respect the other.
Furthermore, the pupils should respectfully and without prejudice encounter other cultures in order to promote peaceful coexistence between people of different origins and to spread the idea of tolerance, openness and equality.
In addition, the educational mandate determines that the artistic and musical development of a person, the desire for sporting activity and a healthy lifestyle should be promoted.
An important point is the impartiality of the teachers in the school so that the students are not manipulated unilaterally. In addition, pupils who are particularly talented, pupils without German roots and inclusion pupils should be given special and individual support.

What is the parenting mandate?
In addition to the state educational mandate of the school system, there is an equal parental educational mandate. This is regulated by the Basic Law, which describes it as follows: Parents have the right and the duty to take on the upbringing of their children. It is not prescribed how exactly this education should look like, since everyone implements it individually.
Basically, however, the educational mandate for the parents specifies that they should promote the development of the spirit, the character and the development of the child. How do I do this if I want to transfer the parenting job on vacation?
In German law, it is possible to hand over the parenting mandate that the parents have for their children to another person for a certain period of time. This should be someone you trust, as this person will take care of the child on behalf of the parents.
This person must be of legal age and be able to take over the supervision of a minor and to lead and control this person.
If a person has been selected who is to take on the task of bringing up children and thus can attend parties with the child or young person, for example, forms must be filled out. In this form, which one receives from the office, it is determined who the person is who receives the education and supervision order.
Furthermore, the address and telephone number of the legal guardian for contact in an emergency is listed. This form must be signed by everyone so that it is valid and the identity card (or a copy) must complete the form.
If the person with the assigned educational mandate does not comply with the duty of the person entrusted to him or her, it is possible that they will commit an administrative offense.
