Can you build the jawbone?

The body's own bone substances are mostly used to build up the jawbone

Indications

  1. Extension and broadening of the alveolar ridge
  2. Increase in the floor of the maxillary sinus ( Sinus lift )
  3. Filling of vertically degraded bone due to periodontitis

methodology

The ones from the Jawbone Bone chips obtained from the hips are applied to the alveolar ridge and fixed with a membrane for better hold. In the one-step procedure, the implant is inserted at the same time. The healing phase lasts 4 - 6 months. However, the construction can also be carried out in two phases. In this case, the healing of the introduced bone is awaited and only then is the implantation carried out. If bone substitutes are used, the procedure is identical. Here, too, membranes are used, and the implantation can take place either simultaneously or in two stages. The healing time is longer with the build-up in two steps, and takes up to 9 months and longer.
If a sinus lift is necessary, the bone chip or the replacement material is positioned between the mucous membrane of the floor of the maxillary sinus and the jawbone. However, the mucous membrane must not be damaged in the process.

For the Filling of large bone pocketsAs they occur with vertically degraded bones, mainly bone substitutes are used. The granules are introduced into the cleaned lesion and secured with a membrane. With this method you can also teeth that would otherwise have to be removed.

The most modern method of obtaining bone substitutes is the production of so-called Bone chips. This biotechnical process extracts bone substitute from cells of the periosteum in the laboratory, which, like the other materials, can be used to regenerate the jawbone.
