Aceclofenac
General
Beofenac® is a drug that contains the active ingredient aceclofenac.
It is a pain reliever and belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (English: NSAID) or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Drugs of this group work:
- anti-inflammatory (anti-inflammatory / anti-rheumatic) and
- pain reliever (analgesic),
some representatives also have an anti-fever effect (antipyretic). Ibuprofen and diclofenac also belong to the group of NSAIDs.
Beofenac® is used, among other things, to treat the symptoms of rheumatic diseases.
Side effects of Beofenac®
Often occur while taking Beofenac® Side effects on that the Gastrointestinal tract affect.
Among other things:
- nausea,
- stomach pain,
- Indigestion and
- diarrhea (Diarrhea) but also Constipation (Constipation).
One of the most important Complicationsthat can generally occur while taking NSAIDs is the inflammation of the Gastric mucosa (gastritis) with the development of Stomach ulcer and the danger of Bleeding in the Magen-intestinal tract (gastrointestinal bleeding).
Side effects that are on central nervous system manifest are among others dizziness, a headache, fatigue such as Listen- and Visual disturbances.
Because drugs from the group of NSAIDs Retain water in the body (Water retention) water retention may occur during treatment (Edema), Increase in blood pressure (Hypertension) and worsening of an already restricted Kidney function and Cardiac function (Heart failure) come.
Rarely can Hypersensitivity reactions occur, for example in the form of Skin reactions (Rash) or a "Analgesics-asthma“(Narrowing of the airways when taking NSAIDs). It can also too Blood disorders as well as liver and kidney dysfunction.
Interactions
Aceclofenac can have the effect of by retaining water in the body Water tablets (Diuretics) that cause water to be washed out.
Also Medication the the Bltpressure reduce (Antihypertensive drugs) can be weakened in their effect by aceclofenac. Furthermore, a combination of aceclofenac with diuretics can worsen the disease Kidney function lead, as well as a combination with ACE inhibitors to treat Heart disease and high blood pressure.
When combining Aceclofenac With Digoxin (Drug used to treat a Heart failure), lithium (Treatment of mental illness) and Methotrexate (Immunosuppressant) the excretion of these drugs via the kidneys can be inhibited, which leads to an increased effect.
Also Medication how:
- Cimetidine (Inhibition of Gastric acid secretion),
- Amiodarone (Cardiac arrhythmias),
- Tolbutamide (Antidiabetic drug) and others
are taken when taking Aceclofenac slowed down and thus appear stronger. If you take the Immunosuppressants Tacrolimus and Ciclosporin there is an increased risk of kidney damage (Nephrotoxicity). Simultaneous use of Glucocorticoids (e.g. Cortisone) increases the risk of Gastrointestinal ulcers by a multiple.
Application / indications
Beofenac® is used for Pain relief and Anti-inflammatory at:
- arthrosis (degenerative joint disease),
- rheumatoid arthritis („rheumatism") and
- Ankylosing spondylitis (ankylosing spondylitis).
dosage
The Maximum dose amounts 200 mg per day, which corresponds to 2 tablets of 100 mg each, to be taken in the morning and in the evening. If the liver function is impaired, this is Maximum daily dose 100 mg.
Contraindications
Beofenac® must not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to other active substances from the group of NSAIDs such as Acetylsalicylic acid (ASSe.g. aspirin ®) can be used.
Nor for:
- severe Malfunctions from liver or Kidneys,
- acute Bleeding,
- Ulcers (Ulcus / Ulcera) in the stomach or intestines and
- heavier Heart failure (Heart failure).
Beofenac® May only be used with caution and prior benefit-risk assessment in patients with:
- Cerebral hemorrhage (cerebrovascular hemorrhage) in the prehistory,
- Gastrointestinal diseases,
- known hemorrhagic or Bleeding disorders,
and for patients who generally do not excrete fluids well, i.e. to one Fluid retention incline and / or water tablets (Diuretics) need to take.
Also is Beofenac® in the last 3 months of the pregnancy and during the Lactation absolutely contraindicated, in the first 6 months of pregnancy it should only be used after carefully weighing the benefits and risks.
