General and naturopathic methods
In some cases, simple things can help to raise low blood pressure. It is particularly important to drink enough liquid so that the heart has enough volume to pump. However, if you have problems despite drinking enough water, you can try to increase your blood pressure through more exercise and sport. However, it is important to pay attention to the signals from the body, as it can also happen that you go black or you pass out for a short time because the body is overwhelmed. Here, too, fluids lost through sweat must be compensated for by drinking and the load should only be increased to the extent that it appears to be right for the individual. Increased salt intake can also slightly increase blood pressure, as the salt content is measured in the kidney and an increased salt concentration means that the kidneys excrete less fluid and more fluid remains in the blood.
Other naturopathic treatments would be acupuncture, cupping, or intravenous oxyvenation.
Haplopappus (Haplopappus Bailahuen)
- In the case of low blood pressure with a depressed mood and impaired quality of life due to tiredness and exhaustion.
- Further symptoms and complaints are:
- dizziness
- a headache
- Unrest
- Palpitations
and - Tendency to general circulatory weakness.

Crataegus oxyacantha (Hawthorn)
People who complain of decreased heart function and thus suffer from heart failure quickly notice that in the long term their blood pressure drops and this contributes to reduced stamina and strength. Crataegus is particularly helpful here because, unlike conventional heart medication, it does not reduce the strength of the heart (inotropy), which strengthens the heart. Only cardiac glycosides with the active ingredient of thimble can achieve this effect in this form. The effect of hawthorn has been confirmed in clinical studies and is particularly useful for heart failure with NYHA stage III and IV, in which symptoms occur even when the patient is lightly exerted or at rest.
The agent should be used in strengths D6-D12 and, if other medications are taken, discussed with a doctor in order to rule out interactions. Pregnant women should consult their midwife or gynecologist before taking. If side effects occur, further intake should be avoided. When taking it, it should be noted that the oral mucosa should be free of food, drink, chewing gum, toothpaste, etc. for about 15 minutes before and after ingesting the globules in order to ensure good absorption. General dosage of Crataegus (hawthorn) for low blood pressure: drops D4, D6
The abilities of hawthorn are:
- Regulatory effect on both high and low blood pressure
- With the latter, the accompanying symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, tiredness and depression improve above all
- The agent of choice for elderly patients with other impairments of the cardiovascular system and decline in cardiac output.

Kalmia latifolia (mountain laurel)
Kalmia can help with dizziness caused by low blood pressure. Typical potencies are D6-D12 for self-dosing. In the form of drops, for example, three drops per day in a potency of D3 are recommended. A doctor or homeopath should start taking it with little experience. If other medications are taken, they should not be discontinued without authorization, but the situation should be discussed with the attending physician. Kalmia is safe for pregnant women and children and should be discussed with a midwife or doctor if you are unsure.

Potassium carbonicum
Dizziness can be a symptom of low blood pressure and can be treated well with Kalium Carbonicum. Since it also helps with pregnancy sickness, it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If side effects occur, this is either due to an intolerance or too high a dosage. As with any remedy, a doctor or alternative practitioner should first be consulted if one is inexperienced with potassium carbonicum. If other medications are taken, they should not be discontinued without authorization, but the attending physician should be contacted.
Arsenicum album
Arsenicum can help not only with anxiety, colds or intestinal problems but also with weakness and lack of strength due to low blood pressure. Five globules or drops with a potency of C6, D6, C12 or D12 can be used three times a day. If other medications are being taken, they should not be discontinued without authorization, but rather the doctor in charge should be consulted. If symptoms worsen, Arsenicum should not be used again.

Veratrum album
Veratrum album can be helpful in the case of low blood pressure, which is particularly associated with paleness, coldness or fainting. The active ingredient is available in the form of globules, drops or tablets in various potencies. D1-D3 require a prescription, so a visit to the doctor is inevitable. For self-medication in acute complaints, however, the potencies D6-D12 are usually completely sufficient. Here the globules can be taken several times a day up to approx. 10 pieces.

rosemary
Rosemary, popular in the kitchen, is also a tried and tested home remedy that is used in the form of teas or essential oils. The oil can be used as a spray or as a bath additive. To do this, mix approx. 20 drops of the oil with liquid soap or cream and add to the bath water. The invigorating effect should set in relatively quickly. To make tea with rosemary, a heaped teaspoon should be poured over a cup of hot water and steeped for about 10 minutes. Ideally, the tea should be drunk two to three times a day.

Coffea (coffee)
Coffea arabica is often used in homeopathy because, like enjoying a hot cup of coffee, it leads to liveliness and thus to better and faster blood circulation. This not only increases concentration and alertness, but also increases blood pressure. However, you should use the remedy in moderation, as it can also lead to nervousness, restlessness, insomnia or dizziness. In the case of self-treatment, potencies of D6-D12 are usually used. When taking other medications, you should always consult your doctor. Consultation with a gynecologist, pediatrician or a midwife is essential during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
