With herpes
Sodium chloratum can help with herpes and cold sores, as it is supposed to bring fluid from the intercellular space (that is, from the sores) back into the cell. Therefore, before using this Schüssler salt, it is advisable to check whether the bubbles are actually visibly filled with liquid (however, you should refrain from opening the bubbles).
The dosage form is ideally external as an ointment in the potency D6 to D12, which is applied thinly to the affected area several times a day.

For acne
For acne vulgaris, the most common form of acne, an attempt at therapy with sodium chloratum can also be started. It should be ensured that the skin of the acne has vesicles or pustules that are filled with liquid (such as purulent or watery). The eighth Schüssler salt can also be used in combination with salts 2, 9 and 10 if the acne has a hormonal cause.
The dosage form for sodium chloratum is an ointment that is applied to the affected skin areas several times a day. As in the treatment of herpes, the recommended potency is also D6 or D12.

Sodium chloratum as an ointment
As usual for the Schüssler salts, the eighth salt can also be used externally as an ointment. Since sodium chloratum is supposed to regulate the amount of fluid inside and outside the cells, such an ointment is used for skin problems associated with a certain dysregulation of fluid. These can include skin rashes such as herpes, acne, or burn blisters. This bowl salt especially helps when the bubbles or vesicles seem to be filled with liquid.
Another area of application is edema, i.e. swelling of the subcutaneous tissue with a doughy appearance. Here, too, there has been a dysregulation of fluid, so that it is now located in the cell space in the natural fatty tissue under the skin.
But sodium chloratum ointment can also help with very dry skin or mucous membranes. Dry mucous membranes, for example, are often caused by regular use of nasal sprays when you have a cold and manifest in the form of itching or nosebleeds. Sodium chloratum is then supposed to compensate for this lack of water in the cells.
As a supplement to a medically prescribed therapy, sodium chloratum ointment can also be used for shingles, as this is often a rash that is accompanied by fluid-filled blisters.
