Belladonna
The sore throat starts suddenly and is severe. Throat and tonsils are crimson and swollen, dry mouth, red tongue. Severe difficulty swallowing. The patient cannot tolerate cold drinks and cold applications such as neck wraps. All complaints are aggravated by the cold and at night.
Phytolacca

The patient complains of rheumatoid pain in joints and muscles, a general feeling of bruising and tiredness, despite the need to move. But exercise does not bring any improvement. White specks and unpleasant halitosis quickly form on the tonsils, and the pain often radiates to the ears and is made worse by warmth and hot drinks.
Phytolacca can also be the right remedy for lateral cord angina when the side walls of the throat are dark red and the pain is stabbing and radiates to the ears.
