Potassium aluminum sulfuricum - also known as alum - is known for its hemostatic and wound healing properties. The external application of this Schüssler salt is therefore ideally suited for smaller, yet heavily bleeding wounds. In addition, it is often used to treat forgetfulness, poor concentration or even dementia and is therefore also suitable for people who do a lot of mental "head work" in their everyday life.

In addition, potassium aluminum sulfuricum constricts certain muscle cells that are mainly found in the organs. Therefore, it can also help against incontinence, bladder weakness or bed-wetting, as well as constipation. Another disease field of this salt is the stopping of excessive secretion production. These include, for example, excessive salivation, intermenstrual bleeding outside of menstruation, and sweating. If sweating occurs mainly at night and is so strong that you have to change your clothes or even the bed linen, this should definitely be clarified by a doctor.

When do I need Schüssler Salt No. 20?

One recognizes in the Schüssler salts. that a person needs a salt, similar to homeopathy, because it has certain external characteristics. However, the so-called face analysis makes up the majority of the consideration of the external characteristics. That is, the features can be found on the face. In the case of potassium aluminum sulfuricum, such characteristics are, for example, dry to flaky skin that tends to crack. Often encrusted wounds, especially in the nose and chin area, are also noticeable in these patients. People who do a lot of intellectual work as well as older people who suffer from a certain forgetfulness often show a deficiency in this salt. The intake of this salt can also help with poor concentration and general indecision.

Where does the salt work?

Potassium aluminum sulfuricum probably unfolds its best-known effect in relation to the brain, as it can work against forgetfulness and even dementia. It also has an effect on the skin and mucous membrane, as well as on the smooth muscle cells. We cannot consciously control these types of muscle cells and they are mainly found in our blood vessels and internal organs. In these tissues, the salt causes the muscles to contract. Potassium aluminum sulfuricum also has an effect on the sweat glands. Above all, the aluminum it contains reduces excessive perspiration and thus alleviates the symptoms.

Which dosage is the right one?

The dosage must be adapted to the individual complaints and is given in potencies depending on the area of ​​application. The potency D12 is often used for this salt, but D6 or D3 are sometimes recommended for use. The potency D3 is said to work particularly well on muscle fibers. The 6th potency should best be used on the mucous membranes and the 12th potency is used for concentration problems. Taking up to eight tablets is recommended, especially for the treatment of mental or neurological symptoms. In the case of dementia symptoms, three tablets a day are usually sufficient. If a type of incontinence or bladder weakness is being treated, the recommended daily dose is also three tablets per day. For external use, the potencies D6 and D12 can be used.

An ointment can then be applied thinly to the appropriate areas several times a day or as required.

Globules

Besides in tablet form, Kalium aluminum sulfuricum can also be taken as globules. The potency is then the same, but the dosage must be adjusted. Since this depends on many individually different factors, a suitably trained specialist should be consulted. Anyone who has already dealt with alternative healing methods and Schüssler salts can also try to find a suitable dosage for themselves, as globules are not known to have any serious side effects. To try it out, it is then advisable to start with three to four globules per day and adjust the dose after a few days if necessary.

Anoint

Like most other Schüssler salts, potassium aluminum sulfuricum can also be given as an ointment or cream. With this Schüssler salt, the external application is even the most common form of application. Areas of application for this are particularly small, bleeding wounds or cracks in the skin that are caused by dryness and tend to crust. The ointment brings the Schüssler salt directly to where it is needed and can help the body to excrete the substances that cause discomfort. How often and how exactly the ointment should then be used must be discussed with the treating naturopath.

In addition, there are also so-called alum sticks, which can provide quick relief for small but bleeding wounds such as from shaving. In addition, the external application can help with heavy perspiration: For this, the ointment or the pen can simply be applied to the appropriate areas.
