The forefoot is made up of:

Big toe (Hallux)
The big toe, on the other hand, is two-part and thus consists only of the proximal and terminal phalanx.

Little toes (Digiti II-V)
The little toes each consist of 3 links (Phalanges, Singular: phalanx), a distinction is made here Basic, middle and terminal link (Phalanx proximalis, Phalanx medialis and Phalanx distalis).

a distal interphalangeal joint.

The Toe phalanx are from proximally (close to the body) towards distal (far from body) shorter and more delicate.
The proximal phalanx is longer and wider than the distal phalanx. The Articulate basic phalanges on their articular surface with the metatarsals (Metatarsal bone) in the so-called Metatarsophalangeal joint.
